Has Hughes Lost the Dressing Room?

Yes, and he has now lost the support of the fans. If you look at all of our players when they haven't got the ball they just stand still, they don't seem to have any desire to play, all we do is "oof" the ball straight up field. You can slag of payers like benjani and vassell, and don't get me wrong i do, but what the fuck are they supposed to do with that style of football.
Nobody can perform with that happening, not even the likes of kaka and villa will make a change to our team unless they ge the same size as that felliani and learn to head.
I think you've hit the nail on the head. It wouldn't matter who Hughes bought, his style of football only suits certain players, not world class stars who are used to playing with world class tactics. Playing football on the floor is completely foreign to Hughes. Just imagine Kaka playing amongst that slog and rush football!

Sadly its one of our "senior players" is the biggest culprit of hoofing the ball over their heads.
true, but that has surely gotta be somehow linked to hughes tactics, the fact that about 5 of the players just boot it up field hardly comes accross that hes asking the players to play elegant flowing football does it?

they did this last year, despite sven saying repeatedly in interviews that we had to stop doing it

Rumours all over the place that the senior players can't be doing with Hughes style of football, and it's quite understandable - it's bloody awful to watch!
All these footballers in the team and all we do is hoof the ball over their heads, I for one think the players are no longer playing for him, if they ever did.

Sadly its one of our "senior players" is the biggest culprit of hoofing the ball over their heads.
That's because Hughes doesn't make other players show when our defence has got the ball. Hans Bakke had positions for every player on the pitch when our defence had the ball making it easy for us to pass the ball around.

'team' being the word. Player for player City are far better than Everton, but Moyes gets them playing as a team. City should be far better than 3 points off relegation, but we're not.

It's possible that he's lost the dressing room, theres certainly enough indications that a few people aren't happy.

A half decent man manager should be able to retrieve that situation though, just needs a change in focus and a willingness to be a bit flexible with your standards and the way you treat people.

I agree, a big loss to the club for me, however the player I'm talking about has done this all his career, and it almost always comes straight back, and now we have Hart doing it too. You don't keep possesion with the "hoof" unless you have the right players to hold it up, and players moving to take the knock down/off. There are very few around that can play that game well, Hesley type players, we don't have one !

Football is simple, and Hughes hasn't grasped the idea. Keep the ball, get players to move, and don't rely on one man. First you get the defence to do their job properly, ours has consistently failed to do this since he took over, (it was one of the best last year (f you subtract the Boro debacle) once you get that right you build the team to capitalise on it. You also playe the players in their best positions, he's never done that either.

He started by seeing how many more we could score than the opposition, with Robinho on the pitch, when the goals dry up, you start losing, and not being able to defend a corner is I'm afraid defenceless, and we can't.

So true, defending set pieces is number one priority for any team, and I'd be very suprised if Bowen hasn't had them doing it in training.
Hughes said this week that he has now got his players doing what he wants them to do and we are beginning to reap the rewards - bloody hell, don't teach them anything else Hughes ffs.
