Has it been a good/poor season?

Average, but the new average is far better than most teams good or great seasons, and still some great football, games and moments.

Given our usual high standards and tendency to win multiple trophies it's been an underwhelming season.

However, no one can be excellent every season.

Our weaknesses have been clear all season. It's now essential we correct them, come back a better squad, and return with the hunger we saw earlier in Pep's reign.

On the one hand, disappointing. Especially after the lofty heights. We're right to be underwhelmed.
On the other, we've won 1 (or 2 depending on viewpoint) trophy, made a semi final and a quarter final, and still finished comfortably second in what can be considered a real weak season. You'd think there'd be some regression upwards towards something less demoralising.

As a completely different way of looking at it, according to these forums: Ederson can't make saves. Laporte isn't that good a defender it turns out. Garcia is useless. Walker and Mendy are braindead. Gundogan is the shittest player in the club's history. Rodri is crap. Fernandinho is old. Silva is old. Mahrez is forever underwhelming. Bernardo is a shell of himself. Sterling and Jesus are completely unreliable. It's quite possible we've actually overachieved this season and massively overachieved in previous seasons and with this ragtag bunch of losers any other manager would have struggled to make the top 6.
