Has Nasri been our biggest loss?

Help me please. Why is Nasri out till May ?. I thought he had a hamstring problem - but so many others have had - and come back.
On his day Nasri is good but the last few appearances he did not seem focussed.?.

he tore the tendon off the bone and the muscle nearly off the bone.

If you have such an injury at the elite level its often a 6-9 month recovery depending on wear the tendon and how much of it was removed.

I wouldn't be banking on him playing again this season despite what he may say about his recovery being ahead of schedule.

I think he'll play a big part under Guardiola.

I do wonder whether of all the players we currently have who we would class as attacking midfield players, Nasri is the one who Pep may convert into a more deep lying position. I've seen it said a few times about Silva but Nasri also has an unerring ability to shield and protect the ball once he's got it.

I don't think anyone in the team has better ball retention ability than Nasri. Sure someone will come and prove me wrong with some stats, but that's certainly how it appears from the stands. He's surprisingly strong, and relatively good in tight spaces (that's what she said etc etc) making him very good at retaining possession. Definitely something Pep values highly!

It can come across as taking the easy option - he is very different to KDB, who is a serial risk taker - and he can appear lazy too, which he sometimes is, but we have definitely missed his ability to keep the play ticking over.

He played there for a while when he was at Marseille and spent a while playing a slightly deeper position at Arsenal. Samir has been criminally misused since he arrived. I remember being at the game against Wigan a few seasons ago when Aguero got his hattrick; Nasri and Silva were absolutely amazing together playing more centrally.

I also watched a video last night of Samir and one of our young lads having a Q&A. He came across extremely well and spoke a lot about needing the desire and ability to apply yourself no matter how good you are. It could be said that this was him just saying what he thinks we want to hear him say but he came across as being totally genuine. I also took this as a sign that he plans to stay and work his arse off under Pep.

I could be chatting shit about this but he is one of the players I am most excited to see develop if we do keep him.
