Has the BBC become a Tory tool?

Like Neville and others, Lineker uses his media profile to air political views. I've no problem with that. He works for a national broadcaster though and so there is a difference. Jump to itv or go back to BT and no problem for me. But you don't get two be in BBC as it is and use it to sell your own message.

Personally I wouldn't employ anyone who refused to work on the football today if they were contracted to. Give opportunity to others and let them find their feet. Let the football be the product, not the personality. Not that there's a single person I'd miss from the list of people who have withdrawn.

Potential to be the least biased and most informative motd in years if they manage it right.

Did you read the thread title either ? "ignoring the lineker stuff" for instance, if you want to moralise/politicise the MoTD stuff there's a thread right HERE for you.

I've no idea what's in it, as I have no interest in it. I started this as a light hearted thread about MoTD NOT lineker.
Im saying the thread shouldnt have been started....

to ignore the Lineker "stuff" as you put it to start a thread about how its going to be better now he (or various other presenters) are not on the tv now (tonight or in the future) is to minamilise what has happened.....esp when for some people their only complaint with either Lineker or any of the others that host/co-host that programme is that they may have said things against city in the past that they disagree with..at this point Man City dont matter one fucking bit when you are talking about peoples lives.

More people start watching cause the pundits arenot on...BBC win and justifies their actions/stance on this......

Ill leave it to your morals to decide what is best and that is up to you and if you watch it then fine

Walkers aren't taking money on from the public under pain of prosecution and operating under a royal charter that insists on impartiality.

If Lineker would have said the "policy is great, they are abusing the system they should be sent to Rwanda ASAP to discourage more travelling" he'd have been sacked without warning he was at least in this case given the opportunity to back down but came out with that clearly choregraphed tv appearance and doubled down.

There is a million and 1 jobs and public positions where it's ok to espouse political opinions, the role of prime time intentionally bland inoffensive middle of the road football presenter on the BBC is one of the few places it's not.

That's the thing this wasn't the bbc being impartial, it was the opposite.

And as I said before, the only people associating a former footballer's personal tweet with the BBC were the Tory party, and then the BBC responding to the Tory party.

He despises City fans? How have you come to that conclusion? Normally on motd when I do watch it he is nothing but complimentary of us.
He has a look of resigned acceptance and sounds like he can't wait to get the report over with every time we win. I'm sure the BBC will find someone who is happy to earn less than 1.3 million per year to present their football show.

I want to know the logic behind this.

So you're against cancel culture when it involves actual sexual misconduct or racism, but it's funny when the person calling out racist rhetoric is being censored?

What're the mental gymnastics involved to think you're on the righ side of this?
A brain is needed to perform mental gymnastics, don't indulge them.
