Thank you @Didsbury Dave I am so weary of reading that GL compared the Government to Nazi Germany but no notion of saying he was showing, whatever you think of him et Al, decent human behaviour.
Also did GL ever use the word Nazi? Or did he just say the 1930s Germany? There is a difference. Yes the political picture in Germany showed the Nazis were on the rise at that time but they didn’t take over straight away. Without pretending to read GL’s mind I would think (hope) he probably deliberately left out the word Nazi because he knows the connotations people fix to that word. JMHO

I though most people watched on delay and fast forwarded the wise monkeys anyway. I never understood why people want to know Shearer is "impressed with" or "disappointed with" a player, or why the BBC employ (or pretend not to employ IR35) people without a basic grasp of English.

Get rid of the lot, like some of the iplayer FA Cup games, just show the game/highlights and the odd replay.

I’m not outraged at all. You can have an argument and make your point without being outraged.

I’m simply pointing out that if someone is referencing 1930s Germany, it’s clear what the reference relates to. Why else would Lineker make that particular reference in the first place?

Also, the bit about tory blue etc is irrelevant, and nothing to do with Lineker making a comment that would inevitably cause offence. If someone like Jeremy Clarkson was making the comment I would also find it inappropriate and unnecessary.
