Has the BBC become a Tory tool?

Yes its become a tool of the tories inasmuch that they want to ruin it.

Tories have this politics of hate, they turn the country against the thing the tories hate.... Brexit, NHS, the bbc, and the sheep who believe what they're told by the media buy into it.

Things that hold the UK up in the world are slowly being ruined by the tories so they can have power unlimited... Their voters, can fuckoff afaiac, they'd eat shit for the tories.
The NHS and BBC are the two organisation the tories would love to be rid of in this country. Infiltration of the news department will hasten the demise of the organisation.

I've said before Starmer should steal Corbyn's policy of full autonomy for the BBC away from any political interference. He won't though because that how Blair and Campbell used the same organisation when in power.

I’ve seen a couple of interviews by Starmer and Streeting saying that exact thing, that they won’t just make it impartial, they’ll make it fully independent.

Whilst they make it independent they can make it self funding and stop the public paying for it. Who is going to drive the policy of the organisation?

Cast it adrift and let it sink or swim.

Oh, I’m absolutely with you there and refuse to pay for a licence for a service I don’t use. However, I do understand that many still see it as a viable service that should be independent of influence from any government. The words from Labour at least address that point.

Maybe ask the public first, think when offered a BBC by subscription or with adverts, more than you think would opt for the current system. I know I would.

Without direction it will spiral out of control IMHO, if it became independent the left will still complain it's too right wing and the right wing will still complain that it's woke, it has to be accountable if it is to receive public money.

Most people I speak to think the BBC is a bit shit, it was a bit of a lefty paradise and then turned a bit right wing with a sprinkling of woke, get rid and let the people who work there deliver a service people would pay for or they can sink is my take on it.

Most I speak to have no opinion on the politics of the BBC, but chatting to them they watch enough drama, news, sport, nature, science, art, listen to enough radio advert free that they think the £3 a week is a bargain compared to any other subscription TV options. Especially older people, that only have the free channels.
I understand your opinion, but think if asked you wou would be in the minority.
