Hated Footy Phrases...

Just anything to do with teams 'not having any men on the post' from corners

The phrase only gets trotted out when a team concedes from a corner, doesn't get mentioned when the team successfully defends a corner despite having no men on the post

Goaless for 0-0
Trailing for losing
Set Piece for corner or freekick
Woodwork...FFS
Winning "a goal to nil"...its one nil just say that.
Spot kick for penalty
The Break for half time
"Reminds me of those great European nights at Anfield"

There's more but that will do for now

"The last man". There is no rule that talks about red carding a player fouled by "the last man". The rule is for a foul on a player that prevents a clear goalscoring opportunity. There could be more than one defender back but if the attacker has a goalscoring opportunity it's a red for whoever fouls him.

"what a great goal that would have been' usually said when one of rag/dipper flavour of the moment has a shot saved or balloons it into the stands. Invariably followed by.." Yes would have been a contender for goal of the season" or some such shite...he missed get fucked
