Have City Had 'Clear the Air' Talks??

he looked really humbled with his crossed arms/legs and less than assured facial expression. the team also looks a lot better. like the confidence had a shift from manager to players (compared to say the last game when the players looked limp as hell while hughes showed a whole range of histrionics).

anyways - it's brilliant if he's had a change of mind, a good step forward.

with that said...

hull was poor though. any team should know by now that you don't let city counter and there's no way of denying their tactics in the first half was borderline naive. for sure it hadn't been 5-1 if they'd waited for us deep and struck us on the counter...

still - a good game and a positive result with some signs of humility by the manager and very real, positive signs of confidence amongst the players. the one doesn't necessarily cancel out the other.

*cautiously optimistic*

I think we're still experimenting with tactics and line ups, which, I maintain, is entirely fair- especially given the number of injuries up to this point. Petrov, Bojinov, Rob, Jo, Vass, Mica, Dunne- either out or have had question marks over there fitness for several games

I hope the result today lifts all concerned and eagerly await news of the current league standings.

Crisis? What crisis?!

:)

So City are not playing well FFS some City fans can't even give credit where credit is due

Well said, give the lads some credit. Sick of hearing how the other teams are shite when we whup em.

I thought today was the first sign in ages of a club pushing in the same direction. Certainly food for thought for those (including myself) who thought Hughes probably has lost the dressing room.

It will take more than one performance, but it was an encouraging sign. And I certainly wouldn't be surprised if there had been clear the air talks in the past few days.

i was genuinely surprised elano was in the team today, i thought he was gone for good after the WBA fiasco. maybe there have been some clear the air talks between hughes and some of the team and things have been aired and hands shaken at the end?

Yeah and me, didn't think he would even be in the squad. Nice to see him back.

Agreed; they're too open.

The problem with these statements is this:

You can play a poor team and be poor yourself, therefore nullifying any chance of progress. The same was true of us V Everton, but they know what it's like to be terrible and scrape a win as they do it week in, week out(that's not meant to be a slur on the Toffess, just that they pull together, no matter what!). Either way, one can only adapt and play the other team's style.

Hughes, I think, understands the benefit of giving Elano a run of games to work his bad patch out. I'll give him credit for that, but obviously there was a battle between the two that spilled over into the team. Elano was CLEARLY happy today and it showed massively. He did the simple things well and not overly doing the 'Hollywood' passes(I think that mainly bourne of frustration to show the manager HE can make the team tick!). Even his free kick wasn't skied as per!

Anyway, the point is, I'm thinking everybody has probably had a say on events and it's been rectified as best as can be. A revision on who's leaving(especially after the show of affection on the pitch!) is going to be extremely hard and I'm not so sure it's going to be whom many think of.
