Have you ever bet against City in a big match?

Yes! I did it last season in the semi v Madrid. Paid and booked a car ferry for Paris for the lads (I was gonna drive) but added £20 each onto the cost to cover a bet on Madrid winning. Put £100 on Madrid to win on Betfair. When they did I ended up winning about £350 which covered the cost of the cancelled non-refundable trip. I could possibly have sold the trip onto a Dipper but I’d prefer the empty beds and paid for ferry taking up a Dipper’s place. Happy days, despite the loss.

Each to their own but can never get my head around any fan taking solace, financial of otherwise, in their own team losing. “We lost.” “Yeah, but I won a few quid on us losing.” Fuck that.
That’s fair enough, as you say each to their own. I think saying “only a wanker would bet against his own team” is a bit over the top though.

Is it evil to bet on City to lose a big match or is money no compensation? I am scared. But I know people who do it. Money is the root of all evil, though, so I'm not doing it. But I think Arsenal are 5-1 to win, which seems generous odds to me. Don't care. Not doing it. Who admits they have? Or would ever consider it?
I do, and regularly, but only if it's a big price shit team.

My mate won £100 after the scum beat us 3-2 when we were trying to win the league against them. He was still gutted. We won it later anyway but it would have been nice to have beat them that day. Being 2-0 up at half time didn't help either.
Won 50 quid on that one. Half time City/full time scum.
