No. Only used to ever do stupid bets like Dunney to score first and city 4-1 which, back in the day, were probably 80/1 or more. I had about a tenner on the sick swan, but for 5-1. I cheered the last slightly less than the previous five. I think it was something like 300/1. The only time I'd bet on the opposition was to get a penalty or a red card, never for them to beat us.

Gave up betting completely a few years back after seeing the impact it can have for many families - although for me I never had an issue I felt I needed to take a stand and turn away to show support for those who can't.

Occasionally as an insurance policy. Best one was with Betfred when I lumped on the rags to win the league mid 2011/12. Fred paid out early and we all know what happened then :)

I always put a little bit of money on City to lose just because the odds are so high.

So I might do an accumulator where I might go: City Paris Bayern Barça Madrid and Arsenal all to win.

Then a one-off on City to lose.

Have done it twice. Tenner each, good odds both times, for Watford to stuff us 1-0 and Brighton to see us off with a pen shootout in the Semi. The joy of winning both, particularly the former, far outweighed the lost stake.

Every time happily City won.

Till Wigan in the cup final.

This game showed me the winnings (admittedly not life changing) was no insurance at all from being disappointed. So I never betted again on a City game.
