Have you ever caught the ball at a City game?

I was once voluntary 'ball boy' at Carrington during a training session in 2006 if that counts?

I caught a few shots...

but fucking hell Hatem Trabelsi, i must have covered 4 miles fagging his shots.

I caught a cold once...watching City v Wimbledon...i think it was a 0-0 draw. in fact...i can't actually remember there being a ball in that game.

Had my finger bent back as a 8 year old sat on the fence at the front of the stand at the swamp. We won 3-1 in the 70's thought it would always be like that but 40 years on I've never touched a 'live' ball again at a City game.

Can't remember the in's an outs but must have been about 04/05 season and was to the right the goal and a player(god knows who) hit a right bluter just missing the top corner,anyway the balls headin right at me and i stood up and punched it smack in the middle sending it right back where it came from.i could hear the "fuckin hells" and "i wouldnt want a punch of him" from people around me.best part was a milf sat next to me strted yappin to me from that moment on.was well in there if i wanted it(was'nt single).felt cool as fuck for some reason even though my wrist was fuckin killin me.

Nearest I got was a cup match at Blackpool in 1983(??). I was sticking my head between the railings when I turned round to ask my uncle something and the ball came like a scud and stuck in between the two bars I had my head in between just seconds earlier - Fucking lucky i didn't get decapitated!!

After that my uncle spent the best part of the first half trying to stop me getting crushed in the crowd - Left at half time because of it. |Does anybody remember being crushed at that game or is it a childhood story that has been grossly exaggerated over time??

All this talk of people catching the ball... Has anyone here ever caught a shirt thats been thrown into the crowd after a game? - I know at some away games Joe and a few others take shirts off and throw them into the away end.. I always seem to be up at the back when this happens though :(

Last season at QPR I was megged by a stary shot in the warm up, it hit a chair and bounced at a right angle off said chair through my legs and close to my never regions. Beats getting hit by a puck at Manchester Storm!
