Have you ever caught the ball at a City game?

Even weirder was walking to the ground around 5 years ago and actually turning around and telling my mate I was going to catch the ball at the match today against Portsmouth. 5 minutes before the end of the game I was sat in SS2 219 with the ball in my lap after a wayward shot from Lauren Robert. This has to be one of the most bizarre things that has ever happened to me :) True story !!

Remember him scoring some absolutely cracking free kicks! - Especially against southampton..

Seriously that lad scored some crackers -

during the warm up at Wigan away last season, Karim Rekik hit a wayward one and it came right at me, as a goalkeeper i thought i had it all the way, it dawned on me when it got to about 5 feet away that it was travelling a lot faster than i thought and it flew up into the stand off my right shoulder.

They were the bleak old days, but we still had a great away day even though we did get beat 2-1, it was Bobby (or Booby) Mimms who was the keeper. Just another twist on this topic i once saw Timmy Mallett walking outside Oxford's ground after City had drew 0-0 there (think it was the same season)!!!

-- Tue Apr 02, 2013 4:47 pm --

York City away in 1998, stood behind the goal and the ball came to me, i ended up throwing it back to their keeper, any ideas who it was? (there's no prize for the winning entry though)!!!
Woah woah woah woah woah woah

YES WHY???

I once took the Mrs to Lincoln away. We were losing and I caught the ball, threw it back for a Lincoln throw in and they went on to score.

A bloke in front of me said "That was your F..ing fault". I laughed, thinking he was joking until he got up to come and hit me!

FFS...

I'm the guy in 106 that screams head it when the ball comes my way but when they don't head it, i boo them. HEAD IT!!

bham city about76, (we lost 3-0 or 4-1), in the railway end, cant have been more that 12 city fans there, think the special failed to arrive? anyway ball comes straight to me so I just throw it back, 10 mins later ball comes to me again, took a good aim and hit one of the press photographers right on the head to applause from the home fans.

I've never caught the ball but, to my eternal shame, I dodged out of the way of a mis-hit shot on goal when I was in the lower tier of the family stand during the warm up against Newcastle a couple of seasons ago.
The ball that I avoided hit a small child sat behind me.

There must be somebody on here that's caught the ball at a derby and had the chance to throw it back to rag and chose to throw it the other way...surely?
