Have you got your 5 songs for your funeral ??

Harry Chapin; Remember When The Music (Reprise version from the Sequel album)
Blue Moon; The Marcels
Getting Away With It; Johnny Marr
Comfortably Numb; Pink Floyd
The Show Must Go On; Queen
(I was gonna have These Are the Days of Our Lives, but after the Harry Chapin opener, it'd be too morbid)

I'll think about it when the time comes - someone could write and perform a banger that could go to N01 between now and the dreaded day

Don't really care about other songs, but I asked my eldest daughter that I be cremated as I don't want her and her siblings to feel guilty about not coming to 'see me' at a grave in the winter and rain.

The one song I said to her to play whether leaving the Crem, sticking me in a pendant or scattering me is...

'New Grass'- Talk Talk

I’ll probably go with Buzzcocks songs. They’re only 2 mins long and that way everyone can get the fuck out of there and have a drink.
Either that or some extremely long songs that will piss everyone off.

Same here, written in the will. No funeral, get on with your lives.

Nice one.
Every funeral I’ve attended just feels forced and over the top depressing!
I don’t want my kids feeling like that and wallowing over me (or not)
Either way, I’d rather them have a few grand (+ other ridiculous costs) in the bank than go to others.

I’ve told my friends that if they don’t come to my funeral, I won’t go to theirs.
My funeral will be a few words from Mrs and/or kids, followed by “The Sound of Silence” ………”Hello darkness my old friend.” No god, thanks.

I remember sitting around playing albums in the 70’s and a friend of mine was obsessed with the idea of having’Shine on you crazy diamond’ played at his funeral. I’d already moved to the States when he was killed in a car crash, mentioned it to his sister years later and she was bummed out she didn’t know about it

I think we went through my choices a couple of years ago...I say we...I couldn't give two hoots what was playing at my funeral as I'd be dead, but the Missus was insistent. I think I wanted Enjoy The Silence by Depeche Mode and as the curtain closed the tardis noise.

She accused me of not taking it seriously and left me alone.

You are correct.
Funeral are for those not yet in a box.
