Have you seen some of the comments from neutrals!?

I remember in school, we used to coillect footy cards, we'd save our pocket money and buy them, it tooks weeks and weeks to get the full set and stick them in the album.

Then some rich kid from Caldy's who didn't have a clue about footy saw what we were all doing and all the attention we were giving it. he got daddy to go to the newsagents, buy a full box of stickers and a new album that cost loads and left him with about 60 Yohan Neeskins. He proudly displayed the full set. It didn't matter....he simply didn't get it.

That's all

and my reply to him

My school was a homely little place full of fun and laughter. We were hopeless at sport and the games master changed regularly. We had an old muddy pitch and cold water in the baths. Across the street was a big school, it had new buildings and a scottish headmaster. They were also very good at Business and could attract all the best pupils. They sneered at our little school and hung a banner reminding us of how long it was since we won a schools trophy.

But we loved our school and always believed one day things may change. The local council then built us a new school, it was nice and shiny but the other school still sneered and they sang there school anthem "we do what we want" at us. Then one day the man who owned the petrol station down the road paid for some new pupils to come to our school and he got us a new headmaster and a brilliant head boy.

The headmaster at the big school sneered and refered to us as the noisy neighbours and when one day we won the local schools cup, they had to tear there banner down and we sang there school anthem but changed the words to "we will score when we want" when we gave them the mother of all beatings in a local game.

The man who owned the petrol station made sure our schools pupils were well looked after and at the end of the term exams our pupils passed with flying colours and now we are the best school in the country and the man from the petrol station is investing more of his money to turn our side of the street into a prosperous area and is even building a new primary school.

The other school things it wrong that we now get all the good pupils and think it is very unfair. But what is the difference between being owned by a man who runs a petrol station and a man who runs a shopping centre. The shopping centre owner makes money out of his school to run his shops. The man with the petrol station uses his profits to help make better pupils.

Spot on there Rascal.

The scum being disliked by neutrals isn't new.

My parents were on holiday when the scum got beat by Southampton in the FAC final in the late 70's and when they got home I remember them telling me how some others at the same place were telling them how glad they were the scum had been beaten. Mainly because they were sick to death of hearing about them.

just read all this thread and it's excellent. I've always said that if you are a football fan who is a diehard and attends games then you have an healthy respect for others who do the same. Its not easy being a football fan, most end the season with disappointment after seeing dreams disappear again for another year. Its nice to know that other fans realise what we've been through over the years and don't begrudge us at all.

Every Evertonian I know, and I know as many if not more match going ones than U**, were as desperate for us to win than any other clubs fans. Always a top day out home and away in my book.

Rascal, that's a gem..... Go to the top of the class, you're now a prefect

I have been genuinely moved by some of the comments on YouTube about our win. One was from a Liverpool fan saying that he got goosebumps up his spine every time he sees Aguero score that goal.

I had arsenal and Liverpool fans who came round to mine for the match and went ballistic when we scored. Amazing responses from every neutral I know.
To all those fans from other teams on this thread, you are a credit to football.
Most humbling football thread ever. Respect

Just scanning through RAWK (as you do when you want a laugh!), and came across this;

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php?topic=283821.1960" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/ind ... 83821.1960</a>

Most of the mickeys sticking up for our spending, comparing it favourably to the vermin's down the years, and slapping down their resident rag. Nice one lads. Now, about my wallet....

I watched it in a pub in Durham with 2 newcastle fans, a sunderland fan (sacked off united v sunderland to watched us) a norwich fan, a spud and a marseille fan. Every single one of them said it was the best game they'd ever seen. Incredible.

I have had messages text and fb etc from mates who support Pne, Ipswich Town, Crystal Palace,Chelsea, Blackpool, West Ham and Forest so far oh and some who dont really get football but have been so excited about citys win. And my god daughters mother has been having a go at me for getting her daughter into city... when she is a rag , has never been to a game and is only interested when they have won a trophy. Her daughter has text me asking if she can come to some games next year.... count another one in. I also have city supporting family in Brasil and they have phoned as well. Its been truely fantastic...
