i dont think we ever will find out the real reason for the transfer request.

and balo is a prime target for newspapers ect because he has been sent off ect and also the papers making up bullshit about he wants to go home without any quotes!i dont think we will see the best of him till next season same for dzeko!

Balotelli, a lifelong fan of Milan, said to Mediaset: "The likelihood is that I will be at City up to June.

"I have a five-year contract and I can't say anything."

Speculation intensified over Balotelli's future after the 20-year-old striker was spotted on Sunday night having supper with AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani in a restaurant in Milan.

"It's true that I had supper with (Adriano) Galliani after the (Milan) derby," Balotelli said.

"But had I eaten with (Inter president Massimo) Moratti the media would have said that I was going to Inter."

Balotelli did, however, state that he and AC Milan forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic would form a dream partnership.

"Ibrahimovic and I would make a very strong (attacking) duo," he said.

We can debate all day about the context. But ultimately, he hasn't done himself any favours in relation to PR, by talking about AC Milan, Ibrahimovic, and being at City until June. Why say that, and then have to qualify it by saying you have a 5 year contract. Add to that, he's been seen with an AC Milan shirt when playing for Inter. These things do not warm the hearts of supporters. Additionally, they create a narrative, which basically suggests, I'm only bothered about Mario Balotelli, and I will only ever do what is right for Mario Balotelli. Fast forward to last week, and then he does a cowardly tackle which again, has no consideration for anyone else at Manchester City football club.

What we get on here by the self deceived, is 'oh, so what, he supports them, FFS! players dine with chairmen all the time, FFS'.

Okay
Your wasting your time and effort really Gio. Your side of the argument contains facts and evidence that he doesn't give a flying fuck about MCFC. The other side of the argument contains pure guesswork and blind faith.

Again, I pose the same question to you. What if he does something similar in the cup semi final against Utd. Gets targetted, wound up and snaps. It's a fair hypothetical question to pose.

So you will be on here again the Sunday morning, saying 'lets cut him some slack ffs!'....?

I will be on here saying the same yes....his behaviour on the field has improved since he started for us but admittedly still has a way to go...but i'm not going to lambast the lad, we and mancini knew what he was like when we bought him.....

You will indeed be in a significant minority. The emotional investment in that game, especially for those doing the entire day trip to Wembley to support them in person, will be so significant, that a selfish player, getting sent off for something like last week, will generally speaking, not lead to people the following day, suggesting 'cut him some slack FFS!'.

The new Gazza. On a path to self destruction. But I'll support him whilst he's got a blue shirt on.

No point in making a bad situation worse. City fans have destroyed enough players over the years by being hyper-critical. Get behind him, the team and the Manager and push them to bigger and better things. We are all desperate for success, let's help rather than hinder.

Just checked this on wiki..very interesting.. mmmmm.

Duncan Ferguson, Patrick Viera, and Richard Dunne have the most red cards in the history of the Premier League, with 8 each. They are followed by Vinnie Jones, Roy Keane & Alan Smith on 7.

Didnt see many calls for Dunny to be got rid of in his time here..
Didnt see Arsenal fans calling for Viera to be got rid of as of any of the others either..City fans eh.. lay off Balo ur making us look stupid.
you mustn't have been on here too often during Dunney's last season with us then.

I will defend any our players if I believe in my head there is a case to defend or if in my heart they have earned their shirt and therefore will get my undying support - as NDJ incident in the world cup. Mario does not qualify on either count so therefore I will and can not defend his actions

He may be crazy but to my knowledge he's not killed or maimed anyone. The worst he's done is get himself sent off in a cup game where we needed him to not get sent off... oh yeah, and not smiled much ffs. He;s got a point to prove and who's to say that he wasn't trying his damnedest to get the ball - we need to get behind our players rather than rolling over and allowing those with an agenda to slag us off and joining in with them.

The treatment of him BY HIS OWN CLUB's FANS is disgusting
