The only headphones you'll ever need. Industry standards in radio and sound mixing.

The only thing letting them down is the curly lead that is the work of Satan.

I'm glad this has been bumped.

I'm looking at getting a pair of fairly decent headphones/monitors. Not sure yet. Looking to spend around £150 ish, give or take a bit. Basically just for mixing/producing purposes.

I'm thinking, for mixing, headphones would be better as most other people will be listening using headphones, but for producing, monitors may be better, so i'm a little bit torn.

These have taken my fancy...

Any recommendations?

Dont own them myself but ive heard nothing but good stuff about them! They are definitely mixing quality headphones. Cant stand those beats, had a go of a pair in hmv once and they were far too bass heavy. I had a pair of sennheiser in ears but the cable wore away pretty quickly and my skullcandys lasted about a month. I just use my ipod headphones right now but i think ill invest in the hd-25's whenever i get a chance.
They tick pretty much every box for me. I've just never had a pair of monitors before so just a bit worried about music not sounding as exciting as it does on other headphones.

I have these bad boys nearly 2 years now. Brilliant quaility. Cant stand the headphones you stick in your ears. I cant use them I have freaky ears 1 eardrum is ok fits in great the other is too big and they headphone just keeps poping out on me. Which isnt great.

OK, I know they're not 'in ear' phones, or the kind you could use on your ipod, but Sennheisser HD800s - mmmmmmmmm:

I've had a set of Koss sparkplug earphones for a couple of years and I find them very comfortable and great sound too.
Squeeze the soft ear pieces and insert them in your ear canal. The foam expands and fits your ear and also blocks out external noise well. they tend to stay in better than regular earbuds.

ebay search for koss sparkplugs.

Bump....

Considering the Sennheiser CX300-II but came accross this review...

SoundMAGIC PL11 Earphones

SoundMAGIC have pushed the boundaries of what can be expected from an entry level earphone with the SoundMAGIC PL11. The sound is a quantum leap up from the cheap earbuds supplied with most MP3 players, with warm deep bass and plenty of detail in the trebles.

While you might expect a cheap earphone to be badly made, the PL11 comes fitted with good quality cabling and strain relief that is built to last. The quality of the product is truly commendable.

Supplied with a neat carry pouch that is very usable and three size ear tips to get a good seal, the SoundMAGIC PL11 is a very well thought out package.

HiFi Headphones Verdict

In times past the Sennheiser CX300 was the first choice for entry level in-ear earphones, but the PL11 has just stolen that spot. Sound quality compares with earphones costing two or three times the price.

I know the comparison isn't with the mark II but has anyone any feedback on these, I'm particularly interested in their longevity..or lack of?

I wear 2 hearing aids so this topic is way over my head.

But if I had to have a preference the in ear headphones are painful sometimes to wear.

Corded headphones feel comfortable and give a deeper sound in my experience though.

The HD-25s are pretty much regarded as the best headphones about. I use them DJing in clubs and personally think they are way above anything else out there.
