Shoulders backOmeprazole is a PPI, it reduces production of acid, it doesn't dilute it.
A hiatus hernia is when your stomach slides up into your chest, meaning the natural sphincter created by the oesophageal hiatus is no longer doing its job.
There is no "flap" in the oesophagus, you have physiological sphincters.
You don't drown from stuff in your oesophagus, that would be your trachea (different tube).
