Heartburn

I get regular acid reflux and take Gaviscon Advance. I’ve got a Tesco own brand but it’s not as good. Rather than tablets try the liquid. I find that works best.

Invest in Nexium. Gaviscon also do a version that’s slightly cheaper. They’re not instant, but say you popped one later, by the same time Thursday it’ll be gone. Then you take one a day.

If it’s something permanent you can get the same thing in a prescription. I don’t take the instant stuff anymore. It’s worth the money.

I get it if I eat greasy food like Fish and chips, so I stay away from fried stuff....its a bastard.
Lying down makes it worse, it eases if you sit up, that makes the acid go down instead of up.

We have one here called Mylanta, that works, I just take a swig.

Heartburn is a ****, that's the last 3 nights I've struggled to sleep with heartburn and also have a chesty cough, not sure if the two are linked.

Anyone else suffer from heartburn, if so any tips?

If it goes on for a week or two I would get yourself to the docs.
I have been taking Omeprazole for years on prescription, over the counter stuff didnt work for me.

The result of all the stress from years of supporting City.

The cough is probably due to stomach acid entering the back of the throat when you are sleeping.

Best thing to do is cut down on fatty foods as your body needs to produce more bile to break these down.

If you keep having issues get it checked out. The camera down is not nice but it's not worth taking a risk. Most people I know who have had issues like this have had gallstones which affect bile production. They can normally find out if that's the case using blood tests, an elevated biliruben level is a strong indicator.
