Heatwave Europe

Finally got through to ‘On The Beach’ chat this morning, they told me as our EasyJet flight is still scheduled to leave tomorrow, that we either go, or we lose the holiday, and no refund. I asked can you guarantee that you can get us to the hotel and not leave us stuck in Rhodes airport, but they said that’s not up to them. Basically we’re going to have to go tomorrow, or lose 3 grand.

That's awful. Good luck.

No, we’re booked to come back with Ryanair. I certainly won’t be using On The Beach again.
I hope you come out of this OK with either a great holiday or a refund.

Despite the slagging off I've given TUI, On The Beach and others, the reality is that most holidays end up being OK however you book them - its when things start to go wrong that you really need the help, as in this case. As we are seeing, many companies think that it's OK to say things like "Listen to the authorities on the ground" or "it's a fast-moving situation" and that is somehow them doing their job.

Sadly, that's exactly what I'd expect them to say.
They sell package holidays in only the absolute of loosest terms, and they rarely take any responsibility if/when shit hits the fan.

I would encourage anyone thinking of booking with OTB/LoveHolidays to seriously give them a wide berth, and either book the individual components yourself, or put it through a proper ABTA bonded package operator like Jet2, TUI, Olympic, any high street agent etc

Hope you still manage to have a good and safe holiday despite the situation you find yourself in BJC.

Ye wouldn’t touch any of them, just Google reviews on them when things go wrong they take no responsibility.

Flew to Rhodes this lunchtime, flight less than half full. Arrived safe at our hotel, didn’t see any signs of fire on the hours drive from the airport. Hotel is very quiet, we’re the only guests to have arrived today. Electricity is temperamental, and the water can go off as they are obviously using so much to fight the fires.
