But they are paying us off for Negredo as we are paying them in for Otamendi(since they probably couldn't afford 24million anyway) it's not like we gave them a lump sum of 32million(we'll be paying in stages just like they will... amortization) so why didn't they come to the agreement that was speculated by 99% of media sources up until the day of the transfer... what an idiotic waste of time that would be to treat them totally separately.We sold them Negredo and we bought Otamendi from them in two separate deals.
We did not give them £8m for Otamendi, we gave them £32m. We just happened to buy a player from a club who bought one from us.
Nowhere near a Eto'o/Ibrahimovic style deal.
We have no concrete proof of how the deal was actually done anyway, I don't see how both clubs could be that stupid not to go that route when it makes perfect sense. Anyway we will be getting 24million for Negredo and paying 32million for Otamendi to the same club... very long way around but we have offloaded a player to them and bought a player off them which in essence is a net loss of 8million once everyone has paid up. :)

Alderweireld was arguably the best CB last season though. Denayer only had one good season and that was for celtic. I think 12 mils just about right
