havn't the FOGgiest? but i'm hoping the rest of the crane fall on that superficial woman Kay Burley preferably during her crocodile tear interview with Boris Johnson when he arrives to make sure he secures future election brownie points, eh I mean makes sure london is safe again from Al Qaeda.

Ahh gotcha, it does beg the question though why did it fly in fog ?

Shirley there is regulations and procedures that should have that as a no no ?
 
Would have thought the building site with the crane would have been a feature of the daily Notices to Airmen (NOTAM). Experienced pilot. Should have known of the crane's whereabouts, whether or not it was foggy. Hope he's not done it on purpose.

It was featured in a NOTAM. I heard that city airport had been reporting freezing fog at the time of the accident and this could have had a serious effect on the performance of the helicopter.

All speculation mind. (sky news about 8:25 am from one of their aviation experts)
 
the pilot has just been named as a Mr Peter Barnes...

I hope this is just coincidence as I always thought he was good on the wing...

having thought about it, I do once recall him breaking in to the box and cracking one against a post...
