The way to work it is allow them to think they run the house.

This takes years of practice there's a fine line between them dominating and trying to dominate.

In general men only fuss about the important stuff, not about putting the t towels in the right kitchen drawer or an odd spoon in the fork compartment.

Pick your battles chaps.

The thing that men think are not important and that women 'nag' about are such simple tasks that a chimp could do them, so why can't a man?

Genetics. We are genetically equipped to leave our cave and wrestle a saber tooth tiger to the ground and kill it with our hands for dinner....we are not genetically equipped to fold a towel in a particular way so the open end isn't showing.

Only at the end of the first page and already know this thread is going to be a belter.

It's pretty simple really. Start as you mean to go on. A long time ago a learned my lesson. It ended in a divorce. Since then it's been my way or the highway. I never pretend or negotiate, I simply give my opinion. If it's about trivia I don't give a shit. If it's anything of any importance there are plenty more fish in the sea.

It sounds selfish but actually it's a recipe for happy relationships. I'm clear from the start and stick to my principles if tested. No one is in any doubt.

"Can we look at carpets this weekend?"

"Fuck off love, I'm flying to Thailand and have a two week stopover. Just make sure it isn't red. Byeee!"

When we were first married we went round Tescos together, as Mrs Mist put things in the trolley I took them out, "We don't need that" ..... "Too dear, can't afford it"

Funnily enough we have never gone food shopping together since.

A couple of years ago she couldn't get me to go and look at settees with her, I told her to go, take a photo of the one she wanted and I would look later in the week. I went to the shop with her phone, showed the salesman the photo and asked to see it. I sat on it and declared it comfortable, I went home and said I agreed with her choice.
About 4 weeks after it had been delivered I found out I had gone to a completely different shop and looked at a different settee ! Hey Ho !

I might show my wife this thread.

Would packing her bags for her and leaving them by the door be a strong enough hint?

...you won't have packed them right...

men have no idea how to pack! one pair of boxers and a toothbrush is not enough for a weeks holiday!

A mate of mine turned up for the lads 2 week holiday in Ibiza with a Spar carrier bag with a tea towel and spare pair of undies in it.

Hate people who overpack.
