Yaya's take home wage is no bigger playing for us than it was playing for Barca. His salary, as with all players is negotiated on a Net of Tax basis, ie after deductions. Unfortunatly for us the highest rate of tax in Spain is 20% and no NI so the amount we pay him is greatly inflated, overal though he is no better off.

Incidently when the rate of tax changed from 50% to 45% City saved a huge chunk of cash. The players stil earn the same amount (take home wage) but the amount City pay, ie the amount before tax has lowered.

I don't just support tax breaks for the mega rich because it favors me personally, i also favor them as it helps reduce our wage bill at city :P
