Judging from what my Grandmother has to say and pictures she has saved it looked decent with new housing areas in the 50's/60's but it's been a complete scrotehole since the late 80's/90's

Have a walk around Back of the moss and Darn Hill, some parts of the Summit are scummy as wel now....

Far from a nice enough place, always been the dumping ground for other council areas to rehouse problem families.
My Nan's house is like a palace on her estate, surrounded by drug addict wife beating scumbags, problem child scrotes vandalising the area.

You know your in a shithole of an area when everyone refers to my Nan's place as the "posh house"

remember playing football on Darn hill in the early 90's before they knocked the flats down,the game always descended into violence.Ended up in a few scraps in Heywood over the years,not the most welcoming of places is Heywood

I have lived in Heywood for 42 years and live on the summit and have a front door still attached to its hinges and NO broken windows

Not as bad as you are making it out to be

Go to all City's games on the Heywood Blues Supporters coach with a sound bunch of lads
