eh?

Heywood, nice enough?

Judging from what my Grandmother has to say and pictures she has saved it looked decent with new housing areas in the 50's/60's but it's been a complete scrotehole since the late 80's/90's

Have a walk around Back of the moss and Darn Hill, some parts of the Summit are scummy as wel now....

Far from a nice enough place, always been the dumping ground for other council areas to rehouse problem families.
My Nan's house is like a palace on her estate, surrounded by drug addict wife beating scumbags, problem child scrotes vandalising the area.

You know your in a shithole of an area when everyone refers to my Nan's place as the "posh house"

Posh house in Heywood = Front door still attached to its hinges and only 1 broken window ;)

I have lived in Heywood for 42 years and live on the summit and have a front door still attached to its hinges and NO broken windows

Not as bad as you are making it out to be

Go to all City's games on the Heywood Blues Supporters coach with a sound bunch of lads

Born in Heywood, Live in Heywood, Die in Heywood

Only having a joke mate!

I drove through the town centre on my way to work this morning (usually go through the industrial estate, but its pay day so Morry-bobs was on my agenda to use the cash points). I didn't notice anything different from the usual shithole it is. Heywood's been my home for most of my life. The majority of people are top notch. The minority always spoil it though. From all accounts, the trouble was mainly down to the younger generation jumping om the bandwagon to make themselves look well solid. The dicks haven't realised that the people involved in the court case don't actually live in the town and one of the takeaway places cited as a place of employment for one of the suspects was sold over a year ago.

Thank you. I had a few Mates based up there and it was alright. None of them ever complained about the type of scenes we're now talking about.

I used to watch "exotic dancers" on a sunday afternoon in a pub in darn hill. I think it was called the criterion.

That's long gone now. Most pubs are.

No, rare you would see large scale rioting, I mean it isn't the bronx.... But I can only go off personal experience from living in several parts of Heywood, having family that have lived there for over 50+ years and so on.

Btw, this isn't Heywood's problem, it's moreso the council's problem as I said for using the place as a dumping ground putting families who were problems in other areas of manchester and dumping them in Heywood.

I've seen my family's pictures/video footage of the areas, particularly Summit years ago and it looked a great place to live.

Far from it now :(
