I think it was the most pubs in a square mile or something like that. On the road through the town, every other building was a pub until you got to a junction which takes you to pilsworth. There was a pub on the corner called the brickhouse.

Used to be called the Bridge, before that.

I was at the Brickhouse near enough 7 days a week from 96 to 2002. A home from home. There were more pubs if you carried on through (Talbot, Horse & Jockey, Beaconsfield Towler, Summit). Pub crawls were great. Pint in every pub from one end to the other and then try and do the return leg. Good job all the chippys were dotted between the pubs to help get some stodge in or else you had no chance.

City coach used to go from there.
Yeah it did when Jakesy had it. Then he had the Britannia for a while (now the vets), but that was short lived. Only see Jakesy in the Newmarket these days. Remember him losing a few teeth on the way back from the 2-2 with Liverpool when we got relegated and the coach got bricked in Collyhurst off the rags.

It got bricked at Stoke too when we got relegated. There was kids on the coach and the inbred twats put the windows through.
A friend of mine had the Bridge for a very short time, he had the Woolpack for a while too.

Courtesy of that odious creature Nick Girffin. I bet he'd never even heard of Heywood until this case broke.

There's a ghost running across the road.

Dumb fools most probably not even from Heywood. The perpetrators weren't even living in Heywood and are currently on trial. Why do they think they are achieving anything?

And it said on the news that the businesses had changed hands since crimes (2008/9). Brainless nob ends.
yea right who to brothers or cousins

My God some utter crap spoken about Heywood on here. We only ever get in the news when bad things happen.
It's true we have been lumped with other peoples scum for years and it isn't all rosy here but it's far from Hell. Blame Fail council. The sooner we get rid of them the better.
Still some very nice places and the locals are friendly enough. We have our feral youth problem but then so does Bury and Fail and Manchester. Those places are bigger so it's more spread out.

If anybody thinks these idiots are typical of the townsfolk then think again. Barely 100 people there. Some probably from out of town. Yet the town has a population of around 29,000. So less than 1%. in fact less than 1/2 a %.

Town Centre isn't the nicest but it's smart enough with what little investment we've had and Queens Park is nice. I'd say Darn hill has improved too. Got some good mates up there. I really think our reputation is slightly outdated. We're a town like any other IMO.
