That depends on which particular stylebook the Daily Mail follows. "Sheikh" and "Sheik" are both correct.

I thought it was common knowledge he was a Hammer?

He's a brown-noser anyway, not that i mind it's nice to have a biased perspective in our favour in a national and it's clearly earnt him some friends in high places at City.
