hillsborough anniversary

It's one of those things just sends a chill down your spine ...even despite the magnitude of events like 9/11 it was the one event that I think I will look back on as the most shocking stomach turning moments in my life...and that's only from watching it unfold on the TV.

Awful

Didn't a Liverpool fan come on here about 12 months ago and gave us a link to the campaign of one of the victim's mother's?

The lad was only about 15 and iirc his mum had evidence from eyewitnesses that he wasn't dead when he was first found on the pitch, and that some attention could have saved him. However, due to time of death being given as the same for every victim she hadn't been allowed to find out why he was still alive some time later but still died.
Pretty sure she was taking it through to appeal or something.

It was pretty heartbreaking to read the website on the link, and some of the accounts by the survivors.

I distinctly remember watching Grandstand that afternoon as the news came in, absolutely horrible.

I don't know if anyone else had heard Peter Jones's account, who was supposed to be commentating on the match for the radio. Apparently he was never the same afterwards.

the self righteous attitude of some liverpool fans really irk me. its about time a few of them looked in the mirror and admitted to the role they played in the tragic events. specifically the hundreds of fans who jumped the barriers. to pin the blame solely at the hands of the police is a disgrace.

rip to the 96
thoughts to the families of those who lost loved ones.
