Come Clean - Jeru tha Damaja

Probably my all time favourite beat and Jeru kills the track. Jeru's first 2 albums are amazing.

Living Proof - Group Home

Primo laced that album, amazing beats all the way through. Defined the sound of mid nineties hip hop.

Royce tha 5'9 - Boom

"Me and Premier, we kind of the same in ways/ We both speak with our hands in dangerous ways"

Das Efx - Real Hip Hop

Fiddigy funky beat for the tiggedy-tongue twisting Das Efx.

Real hip hop from the soul

Mos Def - Mathematics

"Do your math"... love the way he cuts up all the samples on the chorus. Great song

Nas - NY State of Mind

So glad someone started a thread on this as hip hop is my life!

I listen to everything basically, Nas, CL Smooth, Tupac, Biggy, Rakim, Jigga etc. etc. name it and I'll know it.

Really loving Nas' latest album, The N**** album, also known as Untitled*.

Ha ha really enjoyed that Mad Skillz track you posted up suvernbloo. Very witty rhymer I havent heard from in time, not since that Ghostwriter track...

Anyone know of any decent hip hop / funk club night in Manchester? I am based in London but whenever I am up there for a game I'd like to go to a good club... nothing too jiggy or commercial.
I went to that Northern Funk club last time was up and gotta say was really disappointed.

Feel blessed that I saw Jay Dee perform live.
Round the time of the Champion Sound album Stones Throw (J-Rocc, Edan, Peanut Butter Wolf) did a gig at Jazz Cafe in London. Madlib was the headline supposedly performing the Champion Sound album solo, Dilla wasnt even on the bill. A little bit through the set he came on stage and the place went absolutely bananas!! was a really great night. Clips from that show are actually on that Stones THrow 101 dvd.
Mos Def, Prince Po and a few other artists were in the crowd.
About a year later Jay Dee was playing again at the same venue, I couldn't go because of work. I heard that he did the gig in a wheelchair. A month or two later he was dead.

Rest in Peace Dilla
