Agree with a lot of this. I was a pretty big fan of Canibus in my uni days, he was my kind of rapper in that it was pretty aggressive but also intellectual. But when you break it down and look back, he clearly has a lot of issues and ultimately it lead to his downfall. There's a cypher i remember seeing with a few guys, Big Pun, Jay Z, DMX, Mic Geronimo, Mos Def, Canibus and a couple other guys. Canibus must've only been young and the other guys were much better known, but he made a point that he had to go last. Now this was when he was obviously crafting a reply to LL's bit on 4,3,2,1 but it just felt cringey even at the time due to how he did it. For the record i think Canibus' diss track was much superior to LL's, lyrically i think he battered him. But it was the only thing he had, battle rapping, there was no symmetry to his art.
 
My stepson isn't really a hiphop/rapper, he does breakdancing which uses some rap music.
I am looking for opportunities for him to showcase his ability.
He has performed with a group and solo.
Jianliang (my stepson) doesn't know that I have written this and I only want to help him in his ambition.

Hi Grassland.

There's no bigger platform than YT. Build him a channel, examine his personality, his work ethic, his passions, get him talking and/ or a (forgive the unintentional pun) breakdown of how he does things in dance form, writing or whatever, i.e., build him a following.

It might take a while (you have to be patient), but people [and businesses/ media] will want to link with him, if they like what he does.

I'd love to see what that looks like if you ever leave a link.

'B-Boying'/ 'Breaking' is an integral part of 'Hip Hop Appreciation'. Most of us that post on here have had some sort of link to that life whether through dance, music or art. Don't worry if you post via here. I, myself, posted a small graffiti art docu years ago on BM.
