Hoffenheim (H) Post Match Thread

Job done thanks to Leroy. Result was the most important thing tonight. Performance was a level or two below what you'd expect from our side and it showed we had soma key players out but it was a decent enough display all things considered. Some are going way over the top with Foden. We need to stop judging him as 18 year old Foden and simply part of the first team Foden because that's what he is now and therefore he should be judged on the same level as the rest of the midfield. He had a good game tonight but it wasnt out of this world as some things ive read would have you believe. Sane decided to be the main man tonight, he's won games in the past and put in some amazing displays but I'm not sure I've seen him single handedly take the game by the scruff of the neck like that, it's usually Sane doing the business via the genius of a Silva or KDB. Was great to see and we will need that more often from him over the winter period and beyond. Did what we had to tonight but I'd be a bit concerned if that was our starting 11 on Saturday and we turned in a similar performance, need to up our game for the weekend.

Well that was more exciting than I wanted. Sane -- superstar, game changer. Well played Raheem and Phil in the 2nd half - pity that volley was saved. Also a mention to Laporte - what a defender he is! Gundogan I wish was more adventurous he always plays safe and is not creative enough. A pity because he can be. Well pleased to win with 50% of the 1st choice players missing.
Bloody freezing on my motorbike. Think I might start supporting Liverpool. I'd been home in 15 minutes.

Disagree. We should judge him as an 18 year old breaking into the first team. Because that's what he is.

I would say so, Laporte had his arms around The Hoffenheim player although I thought he went down very easily. I thought The Hoffenheim player may have been offside before the foul but I’m not certain about that.

I thought he looked off side at first. But on replay, definately on. You have to be more careful when defending in the area like that.
The player is more often than not, going to hit the deck. It gives the ref a decision to make. We'd have expected it, at the other end.

No not well played Raheem , too often made the wrong decision at the crucial moment in front of goal.
