Hoffenheim (H) Post Match Thread

Bit of a strange game, we looked very open and were a bit sloppy going forward. Sane was incredible, it was almost too easy for him at times, reminded me of Henry tonight.

Foden has everything and with a bit more luck could have had a couple of assists and a world class goal. His work ethic is amazing. His spatial awareness is amazing. His innate understand of when to pass is amazing. I'm a fan.
 
Slow start, indecisive in defence until Stones came off, Walker improved the shape, which calmed things down.

Once again a lot of missed chances, Sane and Sterling played well, Foden took a while to get into the flow of things but had a good second half and doesn't look out of place. Sane MOTM.

So it's A.Madrid, Schalke, Ajax or Roma for us next round. Draw on Monday.

Fantastic long range free kick Leroy. Brilliant counter, my motm Sterling played it back to Sané for 2-1. Great comeback to top the group!
 
Good game to watch that. Sloppy at the back, slow start and lack of control at times but excellent 2nd half going forward. Very wasteful though. That 3 on the keeper was hideous!

Sane made amends though.

Foden excellent 2nd half. Bit sloppy first.

Stones is not a right back
 
Good gamee shame about the missed chances... Now go on beat everton and put pressure on the Red dippers
 
Created plenty but wasteful.

Another CL experiment from Pep was again poor but at least he corrected it.

Job done, on to Everton now with hopefully Dinho back.
 
Second half City were a lot more potent and we should have won easily. Sane immense tonight and is in a rich vein of form currently, please keep this up for Saturday Leroy.

Foden really shone in the second half, shame he didn't score with that volley.

Defensively we were very shakey and looked vulnerable every time they attacked. Walker's form has fallen off a cliff and let's hope Danilo is back soon.

Bernardo quiet again and needs a rest but unfortunately we need him because of the injuries
 
Must be one of the most wasteful teams out there think if aguero was playing tonight we might of won by 3 or 4 goals margin, we got to be more clinical its like the players know another chance will come along.
 
Is the squad strong enough to challenge on all fronts for me NO can't see us making it past the qf we get found out time and time again this competition and the better teams will punish us. Sane as good as he was tonight still wasted numerous chances same with Jesus and sterling who I thought was motm. Foden looked like he was trying to hard first half but was class when he settled down stones can't play right back Zinchenko just gets exposed by any team Gundogan is fine and can play either of the 2 midfield roles no problem.
