Holding of Haaland

Strangely enough, all the red shirts cannot play without following through on a player or man handling them to the ground. Hence this year's introduction by the PL to 'toughen up' football and allow more contact.

That was introduced immediately after Haaland's first season after he bullied defenders that year. It was trialled in the last few games of the season, and then formalised for the following season.

A desperate and very obvious strategy to stop him scoring so many. Now everyone is doing it to everyone else. Ridiculous. As always, an "interpretation" introduced for the wrong reason gets abused and makes a mockery of the game.

They should rename the game Rugby.

It doesn't help when tv shows replays of holand holding Haaland with both arms and twat Neville just laughing about it. Fast forward and Neville is trying to claim a dodgy penalty for rags.
Pundits should be calling the holding out
The club should be calling it out also but we just seem to accept things against us

Holding at corners is ridiculous it real is rugby on Haaland.
But the holding by Maguire in the building up was pissing me off.
People moaning that Haaland didn't make a run etc but Haaland couldn't !
I notice on one attack down the wing you could see Haaland at the bottom of the screen trying to ger Maguire of him. It was in the box so a clear penalty again.

It's not an excuse for our form but if the fouls are given it frees Haaland up to cause chaos. At the moment rugby tackling Haaland seems to be allowed.
And that's precisely where both the problem and the solution lie. What's abundantly clear is that challenges committed in the penalty area - otherwise interpreted as fouls - receive lenient treatment by referees in comparison to those elsewhere on the pitch. If referees were to apply consistency such that a foul is recognised for what it is, and penalised equally regardless of where is occurs, the penalty box wrestling matches would soon be a thing of the past.

Why is this not a foul ?

The holding of Haaland seems to be of the scale this season.

In the first half it was a clear penalty by the rags centre forward. Than in general play Maguire was holding him in the build up play. This was stopping Haaland make a run.

It seems when Haaland uses his strength he is penalised.
Any clips of this?

Much the same thing happened to Dzeko.

The majority of 'tackles' on City players these days involve grabbing or attempting to grab an arm as they sail by. It should be an immediate free kick if arms are used at any point in any attempt to tackle. And are PiGMOL and their muppets ever gonna get to grips with the constant holding and pushing of players in the box. It seems that penal offences are set aside at corners and refs pray pre-match that any pen is gonna be a FB fisting the ball over the bar, or VAR bellowing in their ear. They seem to think that defenders have no idea of the LotG and the corner is held until the whistling wanker has had an opportunity to explain the finer points in the Law. And fat good it does, 'cos what they were explaining continues!

If I was Haaland I'd be raking studs down shins and throwing the odd 'accidental' elbow behind me.
Can understand your point of view.
But, what would be the outcome ?
The Sky match pundits and it's coverage generally, would be calling for a lifetime ban.
Remember the furore with previous City players, especially Sergio ?
