Holiday advice

I haven’t done it, but I’m in same boat as you. I’d been led to believe their extenuating circumstances policy overrides the individual cancellation policies, and consequently you can get full refund. I read the link in their website and that’s what I took from it.

I believe so to mate. I’m Going to try and get that from Airbnb themselves to as their updates are patchy and never get to the point. My arm will be bent to pay the 800 over the next 10 days or so and I should be able to manage that in the short term.

If both governments don’t agree to an air bridge at the end of the month, then we will just have to cancel with about a week to go and hope for a full refund shortly after. This does shift the “Host” but I guess we can’t help circumstances. I’m sure they lost all international sales in March- July already!

what is your situation?

I've booked accommodation in Bulgaria with air b'n'b,Like you say would rather lose 50% of 50% than 50% of 100%.It is not known if flights be flying into Bulgaria from Manchester so unsure what to do.

Fly to Budapest or somewhere close and bus it. Be a great journey see more nice things. My flights to Zadar have gone so I will be doing much the same.

We had a cottage booked in Northumberland for a weeks stay end of April. Owner playing hardball and refusing refund, latest offer is 50%. Competitions and Markets Authority have made it clear a full refund should be given, so a letter before action is going in the post tomorrow to nudge him a long a little.

remind him that even in Northumberland they occasionally get ‘summer fires’.

Having checked the UK long range weather it looks like its going to piss down most of July, August is always shite.

I see there are quite a few cheap flights to be had so by the end of the day once I have had a joint and some beer I will have been on O,Leary.com and invested a modest sum to show my support for the travel industry.

Where the fuck I will end up is anyones guess but I have clearance from the war office to go and purchase some Amber leaf or Golden Virginia so early July it is.....a pioneer no less, one of the first Brits to venture forth

I will certainly be doing a couple of weeks in the Balkans in September/October and will be doing my upmost to bugger off to Portugal on several occasions over the winter.

Has anyone passed through an airport recently? I know they'll be operating way below capacity so not really a fair comparison but wondering what sort of measures have been put in place, what things are open in the terminals etc?

but it’s about crossing a border. If you are holding a british passport they’ll not let you in without good reason at the moment

I could hop from UK to Germany/Spain to Croatia, if direct gets cancelled, but they’ll reject me as soon as they see my passport. A good page To check is https://www.total-croatia-news.com/ provides travel updates and info in the country. I think it’s run by ex-pats.

So Spain agrees to let Brits in from today yet our miserable government still insists on the quarantine on return.
Absolutely crazy.

So I can fly to Malaga but be forced to quarantine for a fortnight when I get back?

Hi mate

The quarantine is into its last week (hopefully) but as it stands at the moment, if you left and returned until june 29 you would have to quarantine in the UK for 14 days.
However theirs good speculation about air bridges being ready and confirmed on june 29 (Monday week) and spain plus a few other countries being part of a reciprocal agreement.
So from sat July 4 these bridges have been the proposed start date.
I am very confident that this will happen.
