Holiday advice

Just got my credit refund voucher from TUI and have submitted the application for cash refund. Surprised to get the voucher so quick, as they said up to 28 days from holiday start date. Which was 20th June. Will let you know how it goes.

Where are you booked in at? That sounds excessive.

Club Jandia Princess in Jandia, Fuertaventura. It’s for three families, a group of 13 in total so that’s why it’s so high anyway. Plus one of the kids turns 13 next year and now classes as an adult apparently.....don’t get me started on that!

I expected a natural year on year increase but that stings!

What a pisser. You'd think they would have a deal for people like us who are prepared to rebook with them. Ones who have had holiday cancelled are getting an incentive to book another holiday rather than get a refund, think it's upto 20% of cost of original booking. That would have helped. Like I said earlier when we actually go on holiday they will have had my money for well over 18 months!!!!

Should have been off to Majorca end of this month, which was cancelled about 3 weeks ago. Received all my money back yesterday with no hassle what so ever. Great service from Jet2 holidays.

Anyone able to guess whether they think I can go to Canada in September - would need to give work 6 weeks notice. Wouldn't go if have to quarantine on return

Finally boxed this off with TUI. Rebooked for the same time and place next year at an increase of £1200. Initially wanted near £3k extra until we said we wouldn’t pay that. So as suppose it is as good a result as we could have hoped for given the circumstances. Fingers crossed for everyone else trying to get sorted.

Jet 2 back 15th July.

seen a few stung up owed holidays around early May for mid July but lost deposits

EasyJet contacted me today to advise Rome to Berlin is cancelled. I expect a Berlin to London e-mail within days...

hotel we stayed in last year in Lanzarote paying £3000 is £1500 in August!

850 free child places on most days. I just can’t see people taking the risk if not already booked and even then I wouldn’t travel with Kid(s)

As a lot of people, mixed emotions. Looking at the speed of demise of Covid 19, and the likes of New Zealand (no infections or deaths for more than 17 days), then I think a half price holiday abroad in say August might be worth a punt, especially if you are the type that really enjoys a holiday abroad, can afford such and have been in lock down (with all the associated mental health risks) for many weeks. Will admit, it's still a tough call though.

Got that voucher emailed from Ryanair last night, thought ok might book some flights for next April the weekend after our postponed wedding, but after reading it closer Ive noticed you can only use the voucher on flights after July 1st 2021! Crazy.

With kids in this climate its a bit more trickier - they seem largely unaffected by the virus but are they carriers?

On holidays with them touching mouths, playing with other kids, kids play areas etc - much harder to monitor.

Hoping to get away in july on a pre-covid booked holiday but only me and my GF. so we should manage okay.

Cheeky cunts, that’s disgraceful.

My money arrived today on the credit card so took 15 days from claiming. After all the criticism TUI have been the first to refund money out of the various places I'm waiting on, including City.

I have three out of four flights for Italy v Wales refunded. An internal Turin to Rome flight may well be another story.

Interesting article about the antics of Easyjet
- They have moved a large number of July flights to Sold out
- Either to -
- prevent further capacity on flights to health reasons
- potentially cancel these flights 15 days before July if no government advise changes on some countries (Ie Croatia)
- Offering people (myself included) exchange vouchers +£10 credit up to May 2021 but wont get original refund if later cancelled.

Im 50/50 if my flight will go ahead but going to wait 15 days out (23rd June) before i make a decision - I can wait on the refund if needs be and either go with Ryanair or write the holiday off completely.

Yeah I'm considering it too! Was meant to be getting married in September. Likely delayed now to some point next year. Wondering if a trip could be a good idea too for sumat to look forward to instead. Bit morally torn though
