Holidays

Warsaw anyone? I did think Barcelona for a city break but hotels are €€€. WizzAir fly to Warsaw from Liverpool.

Went last year, decent city.
Not particularly expensive, UBER dirt cheap to get around, main airport very close to the city centre for convenience.
Wouldn't say it has the charm of somewhere like Krakow but many places don't.
English widely spoken.
A decent shout for a weekend away/short break.

Has anyone been to Playa del Carmen in Mexico. If so, would you recommend it?
The Riviera Maya is gorgeous and some stunning hotels dotted along the coast all the way down to Tulum, but at the moment I wouldn't go anywhere near Playa del Carmen, 2 American tourists were killed there last week and the drug cartels have upped their fighting in recent weeks. The police and the cartels are having open gun battles along 5th Avenue constantly.

I had forgot about this stuff when I replied to @vincent but it's actually the reason why we went to Cuba this time around and not Mexico.
Been to Playa a few times and loved it but I also just remembered that they are having a lot of issues with the seaweed lately.
Just got back last week from Royalton Cayo Santa Maria in Cuba and I probably won't bother going to any other resort in Cuba after this place.
Cheaper than anywhere other than the Dominican (which I won't go back to) and the #1 rated luxury,
adults only resort in Cuba.

TUI prices have rocketed too. Family beach holiday in peak season for Greece anywhere decent from £4500-6500. Only way to get a good deal seems to be booking when they are released. Ie: 2025 will be released at some point this year.

Me and Mrs Prague doing a 7 night P and O cruise from Southampton to Lisbon, Porto, Vigo and Cherbourg from next Saturday. Not done a Southampton cruise before, so something slightly different.

Off to Turkey again tomorrow for 10 days with my bird, can’t wait, won’t be buying any snide gear though, have enough RL polo shirts etc to last a lifetime (most of which are better made than the real ones too).

Love Turkey too, been looking at flight times though and they are all a bit shite from Manchester.

Have a great time.

No doubt there will be people who get bargains at the last minute, but booking the day the holidays are released is usually the way to get the best price, especially if you want to go somewhere specific.

After last year's TUI debacle, I would only ever book with them again if I had no other options or there was a crazy-priced bargain.

I prefer the idea of EasyJet/Ryanair + direct booking with hotel: you pay the flights up front, but everything else is flexible until the last minute ..... and you only have to stump up the cash when you get there.

Summer 2025 will likely be released around November this year, assuming it follows similar patterns.

If you can only travel during peak season, book as soon as they are released (be that Tui, Jet2 Holidays, Easyjet holidays, whoever)
