Holidays

Salou the first week in September for 10 days, First time we've brought the kids to Salou so really looking forward to it. We went to Palma 3 years ago that was our last holiday abroad it was a lovely place and highly reccomend it.

Beautiful place but the highlight for me was a stop at Niagara on The Lake on the way to the falls. Unspoilt (at the time) village with the most amazing buildings and a Christmas shop all the year round.
In one of the shops the assistant noting my accent told me he was from Bolton and after a short discussion on schools it turned out that one of my friends had taught him! :-) Small world. Loved it all.

It was the beginning of December and they tested out the lights over the falls and it was out of this world. :-)
Went past that Mrs EB, very expensive Real Estate but as you say beautiful.

We went to a Theatre on Yong Street (Jersey Boys) in Toronto and had a drink at the Interval, was talking to Mrs H and a woman around the same age approached us and said she could recognise our Ashton accents, she was from Denton, small world.

The theme park there's ace.
Took my daughter there when she was 11 and said I'd give her 10 euros if she went on the shambhala(Europe's biggest roller coaster at the time) with me.
Cost me 60 euros in the end, she loved it!

Has anyone been to South Korea before? I was planning on Japan next year but I can't see them opening the borders any time soon.

I spent 3 months there with work and didn’t have a great experience no doubt there are some places worth a visit but I gust found it all a but meh, luckily my company at the time allowed me a couple of long weekends in Hong Kong a place I would have in my top five places to visit.

Barbados..wow I'd love to go there if I had the savings..would you recommend
As someone else says it can be bloody expensive but there plenty of local places to eat that are sensible. As with many places the exchange rate since June 2016 shafts us. I wouldn't go into debt to go there though as from May onwards the weather is more reliable in the med than the Caribbean.

If you don't mind me asking mate, what was it you didn't like? Nightlife? Scenery?

It was probably about 10 years ago and I just thought it all a bit dreary and grey, I just couldn’t get into the place, maybe I was missing a good guide, food was good mind but the Soju is lethal stuff I remember eating in some tented grill place sat on a bench drinking the stuff and the next minute falling backwards off the thing, the agent and locals had a proper hoot, I probably had better times in South China and Taiwan.

I am sure it’s got plenty of upsides but it just wasn’t for me.
