are you departing for the cruise from Miami,if so and your booking your own flights it would be worth doing an extra 2/3 days on South Beach prior to your cruise, hotels reasonable prices, just dont stand or sit still for to long as the local dealers think your hanging around for a dime bagJust booked a Caribbean cruise for next April from Florida, then a cruise from FL to Rome with some nice European stops. 30 nights in all.

We only really left our hotel complex to go on trips but from memory there didn't seem alot in the way of bars or shopping outside the resorts. I know there is a mall you can visit but we didn't go. I'm sure if you look you'll find a bar or two that you can visit thoughgoing to DR in November staying Bravaro beach, looks very nice and all that but was unsure of getting out and about to bars and shopping etc,i asume its safe with limited hassel if at all any?

As for hassle, we didn't get any. The locals are all lovely and friendly. You'll have a great time. :)

VeniceMe and the wife want to do a few days somewhere next year (end of March) where the days can be pretty busy with things to do if anybody has any suggestions?
We know the obvious New York etc. but budget has taken that out of reach for now.
We're looking at Rome as a potential but know there's plenty other places that ignorantly I won't have thought about.
Padova.Venice
Verona
Lucca
Rome’s a good base for travelling to Naples, Pompeii and Sorrento. Can’t recommend Pompeii enough, mind blowing how intact the place is. The Trastevere (workings quarter I think it translates to) is great in the evening and not rip off prices last time I went.Me and the wife want to do a few days somewhere next year (end of March) where the days can be pretty busy with things to do if anybody has any suggestions?
