We stayed in Sorrento a few years back but hired a driver to take us around the region. The food & wine in the Puglia region is just stunning
The fish is still flapping its tail as it’s put in front of you , it’s that fresh .
Did a wine tasting last week and , I kid you not, they poured six glasses of at least 250 ml in each one . A pity I was driving .
I bought a few that I’m planning on filling the suitcase with . Luckily , I’ve found that it’s not as expensive as it used to be to import some bottles .
From last weeks not completely honest review , I’ll fill in a few blanks .
Cappuccinos , Lattes , espressos etc usually come in at about a Euro to €1.50 , the croissants, pasticiccio etc about the same .
The food is amazing and value for money is very good . A roasted sea bass will be about 12 Euro. Pasta is delightful , as expected .
I’ve only had one dodgy meal and that was in a tourist trap of a place when I’d just arrived at our third resort .
I’ve done a cooking class that was breathtaking in its simplicity and its taste .
The sea is astonishing, clear and warm . Beaches are usually busy but will get more so once the Italian holidays kick in .
Driving is fairly easy if you’re confident . Just don’t be put off by the Fiat 500 Sat 3 inches off your bumper at 120 kmh .
Anyway . For me it pisses all over Tuscany, Milan , Lake Como , Cinque Terre etc . It’s an absolute blast .
I’ll get a lot more out of the next time I come here .
