Holidays

I flew Gatwick to Phuket (and back) non-stop on the Dreamliner. The pressure is set at about 6000 feet. Really comfortable flight and it didn't seem like the 14½ hours it took.

Loved the A380.
I think I'm going on a Dreamliner to Goa on Friday, I've upgraded as it's a night flight and hopefully I'll get a kip. Tbf a plane is a plane to me, maybe I'll feel different when I disembark feeling fresh and ready to roll at 13.30 local time on Saturday.

Can anyone recommend a good destination for a family, well I say family it's just me and my 2 boys aged 7 and 9. We went on an all Inc to Kos last year, Mitsis Blue Domes resort, had an amazing time, although I think i was the only single dad in the whole bloody complex. My boys are at an age where they get bored quite easily so anywhere with plenty of on-site activities would be good. Bonus if there's plenty to see and do beyond the resort such as a town or village, historical sites, theme parks etc.
Lara barut collection in Antalaya is a great place for the kids . It's not too far from the airport but there's not much around apart from shopping malls selling fake shit . It's that good you don't need to leave . I've been a couple of times with my daughter and she loves it . Going again this year .

It was nice to tick Istanbul off the list but the locals were just on you to spend money all the time. I found them charming but it was just constant hassle from touts.

A nice gem was Larnaca in Cyprus for two nights before Armenia with Wales. John Lennon flies direct and it was a pretty place with a beach. Service staff were proud to do their jobs and everyone I met was nice.

If I’m due anywhere around there again then I’m going back.

The 380 is OK especially on the upper deck. The 787, is fine depending on the airline and class. It was originally designed to be 3-2-3 in economy, but BA and many other airlines made it 3-3-3. If you by the window where the cabin starts to narrow it's not a nice experience. The A350 knocks spots off the 787, and I actively go for one if I can. Next week is London-Helsinki-Bangkok on Finnair A350 all the way.
We’re on a Japan Airlines 787 and have booked the row where the seating config switches to 2-3-2 for a bit of extra shoulder room.
They aren’t flying via Russian airspace so go the old polar route iceland - Greenland - Alaska and across the Baring sea.
We take off at 10am, fly for 14 hours in daylight all the way arriving in Tokyo at 10am the following day without seeing darkness.

Yes, it's a long old trek. At least the days of going that way and stopping off for fuel in Anchorage are a thing of the past! We're going London- Helsinki- Bangkok and the flight time is 2 hours longer than before the war. At leat we're at the front of the plane though.

There is no doubt that you'll feel better after a long flight on both the 787 and A350. They are both pressurised to about 6000ft rather than the normal 10000.

Surprised to see so many people liked Paris. I hated it. Found it dirty and full of rude people.

I was there for football so I can only assume it’s the reputation we have.
