Holidays

Will probably be better than when went went in February and nearly got blown off the face of the earth with the wind and rain (especially in Sintra!)

If you have a look on our YouTube channel, we have loads of useful Lisbon & Sintra videos we made including:-

Lisbon is a fantastic city but I'm not sure about the public transport. The thing about the metro is that it only covers certain directions - i.e. out to the World Expo site/aquarium and airport, it's great, other directions, not so useful.

We got on a tram to go to Belem one day and it broke down after 5 mins and we ended up calling an Uber. As for the "historic trams", great for taking photos, a nightmare to ride on.

The geography of the place - mains sites in 4 diffenets directions, miles apart - means that Uber saved us. Just 12 euros (one-way) to get from the city centre, across the suspension bridge and to the Cristo Rei - the highlight of the visit.

Like I said, a fantastic city, though, with loads of things to do.

Great videos, thanks! I’m heading to Lisbon in November for four days, and I’m already looking forward to it. The city has such a rich history and vibrant culture, and I can't wait to explore its beautiful streets, sample delicious food, and visit some iconic landmarks. I’m particularly excited about trying the local pastries and wandering through the colorful neighborhoods. I’m also confident that costco travel did a good job organizing my trip. I've heard great things about their travel packages, and I appreciate how they handle all the details, making everything easier for me. From accommodations to activities, I feel like I’m in good hands

We are doing a day out in Brussels in a couple of weeks. Mrs got on a group called Extreme Day Trips (ok i know a trip to Brussels isnt really extreme) , fly out to a destination first thing when a particular cheap flight comes up, back at night.

Quite looking forward to the novelty of it but the pessimist in me keeps thinking that a delay pf any sort fucks the whole day up.
And the last 10 tomes ive flown out of manchester ive had a delay, anything from 30 mins to 3 hours

Sounds good. We've done a few trips (including Geneva last year and Venice this year) where we fly out on the Saturday morning and return on the Sunday night.

Like you say, it is dependent on minimal flights delays, but so far it's always worked out OK for us.

I enjoyed Brussels - The Atomium, Mini Europe and the main square are all worth seeing.
