Holidays

Going to pisa on Friday never been before and seen cheap flights so booked up for a few days is it worth getting the train over to lucca for the day?
Pisa is a good day trip, but as the poster suggested below staying somewhere close like Lucca or Florence even (50min) train could be even better

Looking at Salerno?

Far cheaper than Positano, only a 40 mile train ride from Naples and a flight £17 return with Ryanair.

Anyone been and decent beaches?
Yes have been there when I did most of the amalfi coast and it’s a great place as base with loads of options for day trips. Definitely worth doing it. Train to Naples is easy and Even Rome is cheap and less than 1h20 direct. It’s a great hub for getting to pompeii and other places on amalfi coast also.

The beach is big! Not the best in Italy but also not a bad beach either. It is quite close to the industrial port though.

Having a break in Naples in March, looks the bollocks but first time there so not sure what to expect
I mean my reference point is going away there with city and that was pretty rough and intimidating. However, apparently it’s an amazing community, great food spots and can be a really good break if embraced. Plus their current league position means it’s probably a happy place at the moment!

Buongiorno, do both, I'm pretty certain you can get a ferry also, but the trains are lovely, just make sure you don't a get local stopping one, get very busy
