Holidays

A couple of contrasting holidays for us this year. have booked a camper van for a week in July for a week round Wales. First stop Machynlleth and then down the coast and back up through the Brecon Beacons and on to Llangollen. We've done most of North wales plenty of times so happy to miss that out for new places.

On a whim really booked India for October, never been so doing the classic golden triangle. Will be away for my 60th birthday and this does sort of sum up the lengths I'm happy to go to to avoid a surprise party. Or any sort of celebration really.

I'm just happy to see the ''everybody should holiday at home'' brigade have now disappeared.

Plenty coming up for me for rest of year...

Jordan
Alicante
Riga
Fuerteventura
Gran Canaria
Madrid
Istanbul (CL final, lols)
Budva
Kos/Bodrum
Las Vegas/Palm Springs
Zanzibar
Lanzarote x2

Nice to be able to fly again after all the covid shit. Went to Taiwan last month, and got a couple of holidays in France booked. Has anyone been to Provence, it looks good from what we’ve read.
Provence is fantastic.

If you like your wine then there aren't many better places about in my opinion.

I'm also thinking ahead to New Year....I'll have 2/3 nights to go somewhere that weekend, and I'm very undecided.

Thinking of somewhere random like Bucharest/Sofia/Plovdiv etc places like that, or somewhere a bit closer to home like Cologne/Bremen/Bordeaux etc

I want it to be somewhere new ideally so that rules out plenty of the main European cities, also needs to be cost effective and work logistically in the small travel window.

Not looking for parties or anything like that.

Any pointers/first hand experience very much welcome :)

If it's safe being close to the Ruskies, Latvia, especially Riga is a fantastic 'quickie'.

I'm actually going to Riga over Easter weekend, somewhere that's been on the list for years so very much looking forward to it.

Think gonna plump for Cologne; £54 return flight with good timings, up and down flight.
I have technically been there as flew back from Cologne after Dortmund away many years ago, but only had a couple of hours to kill in the centre before the flight home so would be good to see it properly for a couple of days.
Also not been to Germany for years.

Did Riga for a week when the World Cup was on, the one before the last one.

Cheap, quick rail ride to the sea/beach, although we are all married sexy ladies everywhere and boiling hot.

Said we'd go back with our partners for the xmas markets but Covid put a stop to that.
