Holidays

Last time with tui we detoured from leaving Lanzarote to pick up in Tenerife which was bad enough, they put the top staff on the plane but after landing the Aircon wouldn't kick in and needed 2 different generators to get it going, fucking boiling but then they bombed home after 2 hours of sauna on the plane so we missed out on some money from them by 10 mins.

Hotel was 40 mins from the airport...took just shy of 11 hours to get to my front door. That was the final straw for me, off to Lanzarote with EasyJet in November, cheaper and more luggage weight.

Currently in kefalonia, lovely place and very hot, no problems with tui

Just sat in T1 waiting for my flight to Kefalonia
Early start, being at the match last night hasn’t helped
Gonna miss Wolves sat. The second best place to watch a game is sat in the sunshine

Loads of Dortmund fans here too.
I’ll return the favour in October

Funny, we had a scouse family in front of us going to Turkey, pretty much a scouse version of Shameless, all with something physically odd about them, along with the usual letting everyone know they’re from Liverpoooooooooool, and they’re also dead funny, orange tan for the girls, and all with one front tooth bigger than the other, but there was one in the party who actually looked and acted quite “normal”, pretty quiet and seemed like a nice lad, something me and my girlfriend both commented on, but then he turned round and looked at us, one eye had gone shopping , the other coming back with the change, bog-eyed to fuck, don’t know how I contained myself.

Blimey did you write that post in your tui uniform?

We've traveled many times with Thomson / TUI over the years, the last one being a few weeks ago to Spain.

Whilst that trip was OK, the diabolical treatment of passengers earlier this year, plus the realisation over the last few years that EasyJet and Ryanair are simply much more efficient means that we probably won't use them again.

They are a relic of a long-gone age of travel.

At Girona the other week, as we were travelling with carry-on only, we checked in online, printed boarding passes and we went straight through security to the gate. They lady at the gate suggested that next time we queue up with all the other people who were checking in cases and she had to check us in properly at the gate. I mean, WTF is on-line check-in for if you have to check in again at the desk or the gate? Useless.

Taking advantage of the extra bank holiday and flying to Menorca on Sunday morning for a couple of nights.

Alot of flak for TUI on here, which I generally completely agree with, but they can be excellent for hotel only bookings.
2 night 4* all inclusive for £150 in Menorca....was struggling to get 3* self cater for that price on the other usual sites.

Off to Vancouver to start a 10 day all inclusive cruise down the west coast of California.. then 4 days in Vancouver on our return

We’ve never been to Canada or seen the Pacific so we’re really looking forward to it.. I’ll miss a couple of games but at least my lad will get to go

Sounds awesome

Just back last night from a 10 day trip to Salou with the family.
Nice place and plenty to do with the kids, Having said that it's very expensive the prices are atrocious.

Plenty of Blues over and out watching the Champions League games which made a good atmosphere, It's great been away seen a blue shirt just instantly stop and have a chat with eachother ended up going out with a few for the games. Bumped into the family that owned Summerbees bar seem like a lovely family.

Still had eurotunnel tickets from a visit to Paris I was planning to go on at the end of May but decided not to in the end!

Had planned to go to northern France just for the hell of it this weekend, and with the bank holiday on Monday have managed to extend it for nil cost. Not got any annual leave left but will be "working in the car" this PM and munching my way through some baguettes all weekend. Weather looks alright as well.

Went there a couple years back, airport is atrocious but Salou is quite nice. There's a strip of wall near the market(?) area and i remember we were there after City had won the league and the scousers got the CL, it was full of scouse stickers for YNWA. Must be a hotspot for the Irish.

We flew in and out of Barcelona which turned out to be a pain in the arse, Beautiful airport in Barcelona I think the one in Reus is supposed to be shocking that's the one 10 minutes from Salou.

No dippers stickers anywhere, The place was mainly Scottish after that I'd say mostly Mancunians to be honest a serious amount of blues only really noticeable when we played Sevilla and Dortmund.

Once the place hit 11pm or so seemed to be loads of trouble, Celtic and Rangers fans in particular.

I wouldn't go back to it to be honest just because of the prices.

Glad they've taken those stickers off then! Yeah Reus was the airport, one of the worst i've been to. Having said that, we flew back from Melbourne Airport in Florida at the weekend and it rivalled Reus for shitness.

While we were in Florida, i came across a guy wearing the new home shirt and it was after we had beaten Palace. We were shopping so i was bored as fuck, so i just shouted COME ON CITEH! He gave me the sideways glance and "o......k" smile and just kept moving :(

That's a shame, we mentioned a few times how we'd like to go back with the kids (we went for a weekend for my wifes birthday with no kids). But everywhere is expensive right now, i wonder if somewhere like Turkey has managed to keep the prices down?

I thought it was one of the cheaper places to go? Is it expensive?
