In England, the manager is the most important person at the club. In Europe, it may be different.

I'm sure everyone will have a different opinion of what "Holistic approach" means, but to me if you look between the lines, it means Txiki wants to restructure the whole club in to being a Barcelona tribute band. All teams playing 433, including the first team, and him buying the players to fit that.

No way would Mancini, or any other self respecting top manager have team shape dictated to him by a Director of Football with no management experience. It might work at Barca, because 433 has been part of the fabric of the club for the last 35 years, but it's not guaranteed to work here.

Thats what I've been saying this Txiki may as well take over as Manager of the club. This setup has no worked in England. Which club in England allows the DoF to pick the players, formation, style. Even Barcelona style in Barcelona is coming up short without Messi, Xavi.

Can someone tell me why sack him today(maybe last night Monday) when we have two games left in this season?.
It is not as if we have anyone ready to take over.I think this has been handled very badly. The sharks(Press) have been in a feeding frenzy for days. He had no chance with no support from the PR at the club.
OK – so the board want him gone but they should have left it till after the Norwich game.Then the fans – who would have sussed it out – could have given him our thanks out in the stadium.
Also what does the club statement mean -”a holistic approach”???/

He signed and played our best centre back this season -19 years old.

If EDS players has been good enough, they would have played, no doubt about it. The fact is they are not good enough and not ready for the Premier league. That's not Mancini's fault!

you cant really count nastastic as giving youth a chance, he was already a starter for fiorentina and an international. If we buy varane whos 19 it does not mean we are giving youth a chance.

Mancini barely ever played or gave youth players a chance, on the pitch or on the bench

I'm around this sort of BS corporate/ consultant lingo on a daily. Holistic suggests a system and the term comes from 'organisational behaviour'. I interpret its use as a signal that Roberto was not a team player and it was his way or the wrong way / blame culture etc etc. the investment over the road from the stadium also suggests youth development and talent pipeline for the 1st team. This in itself with scouting network is a system. It looks like Roberto didn't buy into it. :(

Theres a big difference.

Manager = Boss/in charge
Coach = yes man.
