Home grown players - any out there would improve us?

How about jay jay Rodriguez from the saints. Agreed he is injured but worth a punt?

Bad injury will be out most of the new season. We've already got a treatment room full of em without adding more imo.

My lad has a mutual friend as him both were at that mutuals friends wedding a few weeks ago, he's a nice lad by all accounts and hasn't let fame get to him.

Begovic as number 2(?) Gk would be a good start. Hughes and Barkley would not improve current squad but could be our gamble on the future. I do not believe many others represent value for money when compared with the open market place. HG not a real issue for us anyway with 16/5 ruling.

Not this season coming but there's a definite sniff of a new conspiracy with Candlepool and the rags buying up any half decent English players.

Agree with the above, does it mean clubs will have to field a certain number of british/English players.
A reversal of Rugby LEague where they limited clubs to 3 overseas players.

I'd love to see that happen. When the next English team fails to even score a goal, they'll be vindicated.

IMO rather than put a minimum amount og English players in the team there should be restrictions on the amount of wages and fee an English player can command. Only when the players know they will have improve and perform will they get better. An average Joe in the championship can earn more then a good player in foreign leagues.

for the first eleven absolutely non for the second barckley cant afford this season shaw overpriced and at the rags chambers position covered now the lad at wba probably better in our youth hughes not good enough the lad at forest will make top flight as will the rb at reading one lad that could make a difference and we should get is shelvy simply better than milner at everything but work rate and fitter than rodwell and against us has always been outstanding probably as good as fernando but with a rocket of a shot that kolorov would be proud of

I would rather City promote our own youth instead of buying other clubs overpriced English players

If am not mistaken our academy from 18 - 21 level is one of the top 4 in the country based on results last season.

It is if we buy a foreign GK

You're only allowed 17 foreign players in the PL. Currently we have 16. Clearly we're after a foreign CB so that makes 17. A foreign GK = 18

Begovic is home grown. Registered as such with Stoke City
