Home Truths: Why We've Won Naff All In 34 Years.

We can't afford to get a new manager!

We obviously can afford in terms of money but we can't due to the time constraints that come with it!

You either support this team, and that includes the manager or you don't.

I am supporting this team. Always have, always will.

AND Feck all to do with financial pressures!!! Like losing TV monies or sponsorship???

We're talking about why we sack managers and appoint different ones. Please tell me which of the following were appointed/sacked to do with financial matters?

Malcolm Allison John Bond John Benson Billy Mcneil Jimmy Frizzell Mel Machin Howard Kendall Peter Reid Brian Horton Alan Ball Steve Coppell Frank Clarke Joe Royle Kevin Keegan Stuart Pearce Sven Goran Ericson Mark Hughes......

Apart from the ones that walked all with the exception of SGE were appointed and sacked because Manchester City fans demanded change.

Look I don't want to come across as being arguementative, BUT.....

Chairmen of football clubs sack managers due to fans behavour and not down to standing to loose a small fortune? Suprising then they hired Mark Hughes as he was quite disliked by the majority of City fans. Then theirs the fans favourite Platt, he's surely walking the loose tight rope of the fans circus?

Let's play devils advocate them which of the named above managers would you have NOW at City if they god forbid sacked Bobby tomorrow. Bond, Kendall.

Managers are sacked due to there in ability to maintain funds and not because of a few shouts or boo's by a bunch of pissed up blokes.

I hear what you are saying mate, i really do, however my point is we have always had a reputation of "Inpatient" fans and i know that the opposition in the past have purely had tactics to disgruntle and frustrate the fans. To be fair that hanst really been the case for a while but i felt it today and recently, ie the fans are turning on the team during the game!! - Surely that doesnt help??

But is it only City fans that get frustrated? I really don't think it is. This "typical City" badge our club has been carrying is not down to you or me. Turning on the team isn't something I would consider, although one or two players do need to take a serious look at themselves and let's face it we've ALL had a good rollicking for under achievement at some point or other. I know I have anyway and it didn't do me any harm....That's if your not counting small farm animal sex  ;)

I'm not having a go mate just pointing out that as a supporter of Manchester City it wasn't me or you who brought about the "typical City" name.

LOL - One day mate eh?!

...Well I'm not to arsed myself as I've got a hot date with a cute chicken called Brenda and all this City stuff will just have to take a back seat for now.

Keeping a manager does not and never has meant you'll be successful. It's a myth without foundation.

To answer the thread, the reason we have won nothing is because Kendall left to go to Everton and we were short of luck in the cc semi last year

Okay, here's the dilemna. Most of us agree that the main problem has been the constant changing of managers and subsequently playing staff. i.e. no stability. However, and I suppose it does have some validity, the question is then asked "which of those sacked managers has actually proved their sacking wrong?". The current answer to that "none". So have we just been unlucky and not had a good manager or have we just not given any manager the chance to be good? Perhaps more pertinent to our current situation "Is Roberto Mancini a good manager or likely to turn into one?" My main gripe with Mancin is his negativity but perhaps that's because at any stage he is 5 games away from the sack. Maybe what we really need is for the chairman to say to Roberto "Here's a 5 year contract. If at anytime we sack you we will give you 5 yrs wages. If you leave you give us back 5 years wages" The chairman can then tell the players and fans this is the manager for the next 5 years no point in even debating sacking him.

Because we have a chop and change mentality and give no one a chance!

Give Mancini a chance, he's not been there 12 months yet. Let him build what he is building. Too many people here have a small time mentality and can only look at the last 2 results and not look at the bigger picture!

Sort it out lads.

thank god sense at last

Makes sense really.
