Homegrown options

Barkley and sterling are straight swap for Lampard and Milner surely.
We'd just be swapping experience for enthusiasm.
Works for me :)
Nothing else needed IMO apart from a striker to replace jovetic and dzeko if pellegrini decides to go with lone striker playing yaya off him.
Nasri in last chance saloon and easily replaced.

Cresswell could still be signed it just would cost a bit extra. Might take 15 mil or something like that. I think Austin would make a degree of sense as a 3rd striker. youngish, goals in the PL and wouldnt cause too much of a fuss if he didnt play every week, even if the media would.

Stones is a good shout, but would mean one of our other cb's would be moved on. Maybe give denayer another loan out and then bring him back to replace demichelis the following season

Denayer has one year left on his contract, and is reportedly looking for very legitimate signs that he's an immediate piece of our first-team equation. We're not extending his contract -- which we're having difficulty doing already -- by signing a new CB and asking him to trust us. Stones might very well be a great addition, but he'd come at the expense of Denayer. We'd get a tribunal fee to be fair, but we're not going to get both. Separate conversation (which I know I've beat to death in the other thread, so apologies).

As someone pointed out, though, we don't need to sign HG players for the sake of it. There is literally zero profit in it. There's no obligation to sign HG players. That are simply slots available, if we'd like, for people who qualify as HG if we decide they immediately improve our squad.
