Hostage situation in Sydney

That seemed a large amount of gunfire for 1 hostage taker. Just hope they got him.

2 dead from cardiac arrest being reported. Up to 5 injured.

Flash bangs probably finished the poor souls off.
I hope not though and they went from prior stress.

Apparently the hostage taker fired on escaping hostages. That prompted the entry by police/army.

That would explain the open doorway and then the sudden firefight.

Report of long burst of gunfire, maybe 10-15 seconds. Suspect that's more likely to be the hostage taker as assault units would would only use short bursts on a single target.

Far from it by the looks of things mate. The security services proper unloaded through an open door from outside. Mind, in these situations there's no such thing as using too much ammunition!

Does sound like they were forced into action of some sort and probably hadn't intended to go in.

Having seen it again, not quite as much gunfire as I first thought. Lots of stun grenades.

Stormed the back of the café and tried to break down 2 doors but only got one down, loads of thunderflases thrown then shots, well done Aussies, textbook operation
