Hotel Stays Before Matches To Be Scrapped By Pep

Even in 2006 under Pearce we were doing it, I was staying in the Lowry before the derby and saw Robbie Fowler in the lift and asked him if we was in the starting XI, the response I got suggested he'd be on the bench, so with mates in our match day bets, we had money on him to be last scorer and you all know what happened :)

Since then (and being an out of towner) I've seen City staying at the Hilton and before that at the Edwardian so its been going a long time.

I would have thought the dietitians have earmarked exactly what they should be eating and drinking pre match and matchdays. I imagine Professional footballers would follow that advice to the letter nowadays. The thought of Sergio in the queue at Pizza Express asking for a Large Pepperoni at 3am on a Friday night before a game on Sat makes me chuckle. However Balotelli......!

The point I'm making is we are prepared to trust the players 100% before a game to be in peak form and state of mind but we arnt prepared to trust them after a game not to over do the pizza.
In my limited opinion if your taking this sports science diet thing seriously I would of thought you would of wanted your player at his peak on match day not after the game.
You're very correct, it is limited.

Having played a lot of football the night before the match I would never drink more than 10 pints with chasers and no sex unless I copped off made sure I was in bed to have at least half an hours kip

and only smoke when the ball was at the other end
So don't talk to me about sports science

You are the consummate professional. I never drink more than 11 pints the night before a game [emoji6]

Didnt realise Michael Johnson was a member of bluemoon. Alright Michael, hows it going ?

I think the vast majority of players will eat what's good for them, not drink and get the sleep they need. If they are married with kids they won't be shagging anyway!!!! I saw Kolorov out once in Manchester (San Carlo) the day before a game eating with a friend and he had grilled Salmon and veg. That was it.

Lazy bastard
